What is the relation between politics and globalization
I think that the impact of globalization on the global political landscape is profound and complex. It not only reshapes the traditional power structure, but also challenges the concept of national sovereignty. As Gerard Delanty and Chris Rumford have pointed out, countries need to address transnational issues such as climate change and terrorism through international cooperation, which redefines sovereignty in the context of globalization. At the same time, political power is no longer solely concentrated at the national level, and the roles of multinational corporations, non-governmental organizations, and supranational institutions in global governance are becoming increasingly important, forming a diversified power structure.
The popularity of the Internet has also promoted the rise of global civil society, giving ordinary citizens the opportunity to voice on global issues and participate in global politics. Although economic globalization has deepened interdependence between countries and enhanced the influence of multinational corporations in the global economy and politics, the problem of uneven distribution of global wealth has also exacerbated social instability and inequality. I believe that although globalization brings many challenges, it also provides new opportunities and development possibilities for future global politics.
Interesting point
Redefining sovereignty. In the past, national sovereignty was absolute and governments had the freedom to make independent decisions, but in the context of globalization, this concept has become more fluid. Nowadays, countries not only have to deal with domestic affairs, but also need to coordinate and cooperate on global platforms to face issues such as global climate change or transnational crime. The boundaries between countries seem to have become blurred, and sovereignty is no longer an "either or" concept, but a dynamic structure that needs to be constantly adjusted and balanced in a global context.
