 Relationship between culture and globalization

The relationship between culture and globalization is reflected in how the two interact and shape each other's dynamics. Globalization is not only a process of economic, political and scientific integration, but also an accelerating phenomenon of cultural interconnection. Cultural globalization refers to the transmission and reconstruction of culture on a global scale, and this connection is reflected in changes in people's daily life, consumption habits, entertainment and identity 

Cultural Exchange and Connection in Globalization

Globalization has strengthened local linkages through science and technology and communication technologies and has made intercultural interactions more frequent. Through cross-border consumption, film, music and social media, people are able to access the cultural elements of other countries in their lives. However, this connection is not always harmonious. Some scholars believe that globalization not only promotes the spread of culture, but also may lead to the weakening of local culture, that is, the process of "deregionalization". Deregionalization refers to the disconnection of culture from its traditional geographical and social background, a phenomenon that challenges the inherent boundaries of culture and the sense of belonging 

Cultural Imperialism and Pluralism

A common controversy over globalization is the tendency towards "cultural imperialism" or "westernization." This refers to Western culture, especially the United States, influencing or replacing the native culture of other countries through the expansion of global markets. For example, global brands such as McDonald's, Starbucks and Hollywood movies are thought to have had an impact on local culture.
