What is Globalization?——XU YAN

Globalization is a concept and a phenomenon of human social development. Generally speaking, globalization refers to a process of integration that gradually deepens interconnection and interdependence in the economic, cultural, and social aspects of the world. Global connections are constantly increasing, and human life is developing on the basis of a global scale and global consciousness is awakening. Globalization is based on the development of information and technology, and realizes the connection and cooperation between countries in the fields of economy, culture, politics, and society through various channels, making the role and influence of countries in the world on each other more and more.

Globalization is an irreversible trend, and its main core content is related to economic globalization, cultural globalization, and technological globalization.

1. Economic globalization

Economic globalization is mainly international economic exchanges and trade across national borders, as well as global supply chains. For example, many automobile companies, whose parts come from all over the world, are produced and assembled in countries or regions with advantageous resources, which reduces production costs while improving production efficiency. And the goods of large supermarkets such as Wal-Mart come from products from various countries.

2. Cultural globalization

The most intuitive cultural globalization is the cross-border dissemination of film and television works. For example, Disney and Hollywood movies have brought certain influences on global film and television and markets through cross-border dissemination and commercial expansion. Disney theme parks are also expanding around the world. And Kpop culture is also a typical representative. With the promotion of various social media, Kpop groups have accumulated a huge fan base worldwide, and Kpop culture has also had a strong influence worldwide.

3. Globalization of science and technology

Because of the rapid development of information technology, the connection between countries and regions around the world has become closer. The globalization of the Internet is a channel for communication on a global scale.

Although globalization can promote economic development and cultural exchanges, it will also bring many problems. For example, in the future, cultural similarities may appear, resulting in each country lacking a unique cultural style. Therefore, globalization is a complex process that has a profound impact on the society and development of various countries.
