What is globalization? XI JIAXIN

Globalization is a multi-dimensional process, mainly based on economic relations, involving global interaction and integration at political, economic, cultural and social levels. The definition of globalization is contradictory. It is manifested in economic globalization (such as world trade, market integration and international division of labor), political globalization (formation of transnational organizations) and cultural globalization (transnational circulation of cultural products and ideas). The core drivers of globalization include transnational capital flows, technological advances, especially in information technology, and joint responses to global challenges. It has facilitated intercultural exchange, accelerated the spread of technology and innovation, lowered the cost of products, and raised global living standards to some extent, but it has also brought challenges such as cultural homogenization, economic inequality, and geopolitical tensions. Globalization is an inevitable process. If the middle of the 20th century is a dividing line, then on this dividing line, the breadth, depth and speed of people's global exchanges almost reached a critical point at the same time, and after nearly half a century of rapid development, human society has not entered a new era in the 20th century, that is, the era of globalization. This new era has brought to the whole human society the ideas, concepts, policies and lifestyle, production mode, international relations and other aspects of the major changes, so that all politicians, decision makers are amazed. As a symbol to mark the existence of a country and show its uniqueness, culture's communication and integration must always focus on people's attention. The emergence of globalization has not only profoundly changed the course of world historical development, but also exerted a significant impact on the social development of various countries and nations. Although the past social development was also affected by the foreign environment, it was basically planned and promoted within the scope of the country and the nation. Under the condition of globalization, this development pattern has changed greatly, and the social development of a country and a nation is no longer an isolated thing, but is deeply embedded in the global map, thus forming a new deformation of social development. Therefore, in discussing social development today, we must pay attention to the characteristics of The Times, globalization, and the new conditions and features of social development under the conditions of globalization. Only by having an accurate "feeling the pulse" of the social development in the era of globalization, can we correctly raise and analyze the problems in the specific development, and can the research be "targeted"; Only by standing at the forefront and commanding heights of world historical development and grasping the basic laws and trends of contemporary social development and development can we clearly observe and judge the pattern of development and seek a way out for our own development. In view of this, strengthening the research on the major topic of social development under the condition of globalization has very important theoretical value and practical significance for us to smoothly promote development and accelerate the process of socialist modernization.
