What is globalization? -- CHEN HEBING
Globalization is a complex process. In short, it refers to the increasingly close interconnection and mutual influence between countries in the world in multiple fields such as economy, culture, science and technology, and politics. With the rapid advancement of science and technology, especially the innovation of information technology and transportation, goods, services, capital, information and people can flow freely across borders. This has promoted the prosperity of international trade and the rise of multinational companies, while also accelerating the global spread of culture, ideas and technology.
Globalization has brought many benefits, such as economic growth, increased employment opportunities, and rich cultural diversity. However, it also brings challenges, such as increased economic inequality, increased environmental pressure, and the risk of cultural homogenization. Therefore, globalization requires the joint efforts of governments, international organizations and all sectors of society to respond to these challenges through strengthening cooperation, formulating reasonable policies, and promoting sustainable development, so as to ensure that the process of globalization can benefit all mankind.
