    After reading this article about ''what is globalization'', I find it very interesting. The author robertson and white introduces the THE PARAMETERS OF THE GENERAL PROCESS OF GLOBALIZATION, THE DIMENSIONS OF GLOBALIZATION, THE FORM OF GLOBALIZATION, GLOCALIZATION, GLOBALIZATION AND GLOBAL HISTORY. The author describes the characteristics of globalization: 1) Globalization two major directional tendencies, increasing global connectivity and increasing global consciousness. 2) globalization has a particular form, one which has been，nation-states;  world politics;  individuals;  and humankind.  3) Globalization has cultural, social, political and economic components.

   The author mentions in the material, "We have also highlighted the importance of not reifying globalization.  Globalization is not a thing, not an "it'.  Recognition of its conceptual status, as opposed to its being an ontological matter, is of prime importance.  " which I think is an interesting point, and I've always thought globalization was a thing until I read this article. Refreshing my perception.
