HAN YUANYUAN (What is globalization?)
I think globalization refers to the process of countries around the world becoming increasingly connected in terms of economy, culture, technology, politics, etc. Through globalization, goods, services, information, culture, and technology can flow quickly between different countries and regions, making the world more interdependent and mutually influential.
Main aspects of globalization:
Economic globalization: Economic ties between countries become closer, and goods, services, capital, and labor can flow around the world. Typical examples include the increase in international trade, the global expansion of multinational corporations, and the development of global supply chains. For example, many products may be designed in one country, produced in another country, and sold all over the world.
Cultural globalization: Globalization promotes the exchange and dissemination of cultures from different countries. Through the Internet, social media, and the entertainment industry, cultural content such as music, movies, and fashion can quickly become popular around the world. For example, Hollywood movies, K-pop music, and Western fast food are very popular in many countries around the world.
Technological globalization: Modern technology, especially the Internet and communication technology, has made global information exchange very convenient. People can communicate, work, and learn anytime and anywhere, which has promoted technological innovation and knowledge sharing. For example, scientists and entrepreneurs can promote technological progress and innovation through global cooperation.
Political globalization: Countries cooperate more on global issues, such as addressing climate change, global public health issues (such as the COVID-19 pandemic), or jointly formulating global policies through international organizations (such as the United Nations and the World Health Organization).
